Eight terms. Different meanings. Start with the exact award, then check where you want to use it.
A Swiss location does not, by itself, make every qualification a Swiss university degree. Recognition for employment, further study and regulated professions can involve different decisions.
Institutional accreditation
This evaluates an institution against the accreditor’s standards. Swiss institutional accreditation and accreditation by an overseas body are different claims.
Ask: which accreditor, which legal institution, which validity period?Program accreditation
A review may cover one defined programme. It does not automatically apply to the entire school or every course with a similar title.
Ask: does the accreditation name my exact course?University partnerships
A school may teach a degree awarded or validated by another university. Identify who issues the award and what the partnership covers.
Ask: whose name is on the diploma?Private-school qualifications
A private institution can issue its own qualifications. Their value and acceptance should be checked with the employer, university or authority where you intend to use them.
