EHL Fees Explained: Tuition, Total Cost & HES-SO Rates

EHL tuition is not the same as its academic fee bundle or its full living budget. The current official PDF covers September 2027 and February 2028 entrants.

Editorial guide · Updated 5 October 2026 · Editorial approach & affiliation

01

Four years, not one annual invoice

The fee table runs through a preparatory year and three bachelor years. Its large headline is a whole-programme amount. Treating that number as annual tuition—or putting it beside another school’s first-year total—gives a misleading picture. Use the table’s individual years to plan payments; use a full-programme figure to compare the scale of a qualification.

02

What the international student pays

The current PDF lists CHF 123,802 tuition and CHF 48,210 infrastructure/service fees over the complete route. Food credit, minimum campus housing, insurance and other charges have their own treatment. Our comparison separates tuition and service charges and includes the scheduled minimum housing in its school-cost subtotal. Food credit is a prepaid amount, not a promise that every meal is covered.

03

A different rate for eligible Swiss/HES-SO students

The subsidized category has different tuition while services and living-cost lines remain. Eligibility depends on A-HES rules and individual circumstances; it is not a rate that any international applicant may choose. EHL’s official eligibility page explains the assessment. The comparison provides both categories so a subsidized student is not shown only the full international rate.

04

Costs still outside the subtotal

Insurance may be exempted if approved coverage exists. Plan separately for personal expenses, study materials, travel, taxes and the living costs of internships. A refundable guarantee deposit affects cash flow but is not treated as a final expense. The tuition down payment is credited against the bill and must not be added twice.

05

Why small source discrepancies are visible

EHL’s PDF prints a compulsory total that is CHF 1 below the sum of its displayed academic and food-credit components. Our calculator uses the visible components and identifies this difference. The source URL is also mutable: it previously served an earlier intake. This guide records the intake and review date rather than presenting an old downloaded amount as current.

Questions students ask

Is EHL tuition more than CHF 170,000?

For the current international four-year schedule, tuition alone is CHF 123,802. The academic bundle is higher because it also includes infrastructure and service fees.

Does EHL’s compulsory total include accommodation?

No. The current PDF lists minimum scheduled housing separately. Check the chosen room type and the periods covered.

Does the annual average equal my first-year bill?

No. Costs vary across the preparatory and bachelor years. An average is a planning comparison, not an invoice.
